Family Management Credit Counselors, Inc. has qualified financial counselors that are willing and able to provide classes tailored to your needs. Classes can be a one-time session, or broken into units over a longer period of time. We will teach to your agency, clients, school, class, church group, or organization.

Currently we are teaching "Money Sense" classes utilizing information prepared by the National Endowment for Financial Education, www.nefe.org. This program is preventative and set up to teach personal financial responsibility today to help participants, age 12 and older, to avoid financial difficulty tomorrow. The goal is to increase the financial literacy of America's teens and strengthen the youth involved through the development of good financial values. The program includes the following units:

Financial Planning: Your Roadmap.

Participants learn the steps in the financial planning process, the difference between needs and wants, how values affect needs and wants, how to develop written and meaningful goals, and how their decisions affect their goals.

Career: Labor of Love.

Participants learn the relationship between career factors such as education and training and earning potential; identify career options, including entrepreneurship; and demonstrate awareness of future financial decisions affected by career choices.

Budget: Don't Go Broke.

Participants learn effective money management primarily through the process of creating and following a budget. They will learn about tools they can use to help manage their budget, such as record keeping, the idea of "pay yourself first", understanding a paycheck, and using a checking account.
